I am coming back this week to the "uptown latin" theme with another strong batch of lounge tempo favorites.
Spotlight this week on a terrific latin soul lp recently reissued: The Modern Soul of Bobby Pauneto, originally released on the Mardi Gras label. Plus more this week from show favorites Ibrahim Ferrer, La Playa Sextet, Jack Costanzo, Orquesta Joe Cain (featuring Chachao on bass), and others.
I don't very often include modern salsa music on the show, but today is an exception: we'll follow the musical curve from the dancefloor latin lounge of the 60s up to some smokin' modern salsa from Cuba, Colombia, and New York to end the show.
