Mr. Ghost Goes To Town

Will Shade's 123rd Birthday Spectacular

10:00am, 2-6-2021
<< Mr. Ghost Goes To Town

Born in Memphis on Feb. 5, 1898, Will Shade was best known as the leader of the legendary Memphis Jug Band, who recorded more than 80 sides in the late '20s and early '30s. He continued playing music up until his death in the mid-'60s.

This show spotlights some of the best of the Memphis Jug Band, as well as local "rival" groups and elsewhere throughout the south. There's some jazzy tunes, tons of blues, even a gospel jug band!
