Each week in July we’re bringing you a new interview with someone from the Portland theatre community. We wrap up our series this week by sitting down with a man who, once upon a time, regularly provoked strong feeling from patrons and producers of Portland theatre. Some went so far as to call Steffen’s writing cruel. Others thought his barbs and praises provided an invaluable service towards improving quality on the city’s stages. But what did he think he was doing? Eric and James - whose former theatre company was more than once the subject in his crosshairs - ask him about that.
