Was John Kitzhaber's forced resignation a case of journalistic malpractice? (Feb. 18, 2015)

<< Thank You Democracy with Jefferson Smith

Kate Brown is our new Governor. Today. A cascade of emails with press releases and welcomes. Texts and calls to her. Announcement of staff members. The King is dead long live the Queen.

Today we’ll talk about what the heck just happened over the past week to ten days.

We’ll look backwards. And then we’ll look forward. Oregon has a legislative session. It’s right now. 5 months every two years. And then another month in the even years. If stuff is gonna happen, its gonna happen now.

What was the media’s role? What happens now? What should we expect from Kate Brown?

Thanks to both Mike Marshall, Governor Kitzhaber's former campaign manager, and Nathan Howard, interim executive director of The Bus Project, for coming into the XRAY's palatial studio. Glad that you didn't trip over any diamonds or jewels.

Thanks to Nick Caleb and Michael Donnolley for calling in and providing a quick take.

And thanks to John Kitzhaber for his three-plus decades of public service to the State of Oregon.
