Since their inception in the late 1980s, the genres of extreme metal have been firmly rooted in the underground. Even at their heyday bands playing death metal, grindcore and black metal were largely ignored by mainstream radio and media. Despite this lack of commercial success these genres have continued to grow and expand and the bands have remained loyal to their devoted fans. This program intends to reach those fans seeking outlets to hear music by their favorite acts and see what new music is being recorded by performers of their favorite genres of extreme metal.
