Tonight on Night School, it is my honor to host Mr. “Hot Funk Cool Jazz” himself, Rick Bradley. Rick’s archive of Albina area music is truly impressive. A North Portlander for over 40 years, Rick was once embedded in the area’s rich musical culture. A one time member of the Street Music Band, Rick sat in as a percussionist with bands and would record these sessions. Rick’s archive of live recordings in the club is especially poignant and features a number of musicians performing in the upcoming Albina Soul Revue. Tonight we’ll listen in to these as well as current music from his group, Press Forth.
