The Farce Side

The theme of this week’s episode is farce, and it came together when I looked over my reviews of recent movies and found that I had used the word “farce” to describe three of them, and that the word fit all three despite the fact that they feel nothing alike. Two of them are among my favorite movies of the year so far and the third is pretty lousy. I don’t have time under deadline to think through the question of what any of this means for the state of movies in 2025, so I’m going to leave that part to you.
