In parallel but separate tales, Michelle and Abe inherited immense wealth at a young age. For many years, they didn't talk about it, or know what to do with it, and ultimately denied its existence. This is the story of how they wrestled with and came to 'own' their wealth *within the context of cross-class relationships* — Michelle with her now wife, Viola, and Abe with his former student and now friend, Ivan.
