The First Case of the Jazzy Pirates' Radio of the Caribbean

Longtime listeners will know that I have a secret affinity for jazz music... it pops up on my show every Thanksgiving, and on a few other occasions.

Today is one such occasion! I will be playing jazz cuts with a decided tropical flavor... it is the First Case of the Jazzy Pirates' Radio of the Caribbean.

Today's playlist is inspired by recent reissues of a pair of albums by Antillean keyboardist Marius Cultier. I seized on the event to select a few more caribbean-flavored cuts from my jazz crates, which I mix together today for your enjoyment. Several cuts today were recorded in the states, but everything shows the Afro-Caribbean roots.

Other names you may recognize from today's playlist: Donald Byrd, Manu Dibango, Dom Um Romao, Joao Donato, Ramsey Lewis, and Roy Ayers. Groovy tropical jazz cuts on today's Adventures!
