The Case of the Brazilian Soft Parade

Today I am giving in to the season, giving myself over to the dominion of the inner vision. Today I play a host of lush, well-produced gems from Brazil... no beach soccer bumpers here, this is mood music par excellence. Cook up a spoonful of absinthe and ease into this groove I'm laying down today.

We start the set with some bossa influenced sounds. Hushed tones here bespeak solitude and reflection, but I'm keeping you in the jazz-cool. The next set begins that ramble down the garden path... this time we are introducing notes of Baroque and scale exercises. I allow the momentum to take us to the edge of the musical envelope before I pull us back, at the top of the hour, reestablishing the hegemony of the bouncy Brazilian rhythm.

The second hour today begins with blues and slips into soul. That recipe simmers in the middle set, then bursts through at the end with a splash of dancefloor friendly MPB with an international flair.
