Episode 1: Dawn
Today is the inaugural edition of Tropicology, the new show from DJ Encyclopedia Sound. Tropicology is the next generation of The Adventures, playing the same content you have enjoyed on this show for the past 5 years... but with upgrades. Listeners can expect a more polished and professional product from noon to 2PM every Sunday.
This is international music that is not foreign to our ears, because the fusion of African drumming with European composition is the same recipe used in jazz, blues, and rock. Music from Africa, Brazil, and Latin America is the other side of our shared musical family tree.
Sometimes Tropicology will be a focused exploration of one or more musical genres; but sometimes Tropicology will also be a free-form composition on a theme. Today is a free-form day. In honor of the first ever episode of Tropicology, I’ve put together a special set on the theme of dawn. That’s “dawn” as in daybreak, the start of something new… a fitting theme to celebrate the birth of Tropicology.
All songs today evoking the mood of daybreak, fresh starts, and new beginnings.
