Episode 13: Nice Up the Dance 1

Rude boys don't mash up the place! Time to take down the tempo with a dedication to the soul sisters and the lovers in the audience...

All African today, with music from The Congo, Angola, Ivory Coast, Benin, Senegal, Cape Verde, and Guinea Bissau. 

Today we tour West and Central Africa with a variety of mellow madness sounds including highlife, rocksteady, and afro-latin. We kick it off today with just a few rough edges on some rambunctious pop music singles from the 60s and early 70s. We start to mellow down a bit in the second set with smoother production and vocals before we turn to a latin slowjam set to end the first hour. Second hour today starts with some deeep psychedelic afro-latin before we move on in to the disco for some late 70s and 80s uplifting dancefloor gems to wrap up the show.
