The musical theme today is Rare Groove RnB. Since this will be my last show doing music from the black community in our country, I want to go out with something worthy of the XRAY FM standard for music outside of the commercial radio canon. But I also want to come clean up front with all of the expert RnB DJs here in the Portland area, and we have a lot of them: I am not a specialist in rare groove RnB… I do not have big stacks of rare 45s on exotic little labels from the postwar boom. But I do have a nice stack of somewhat underground compilations here, along with a few originals, and these tracks will mostly be new music for listeners who are not RnB experts.
