Episode 77: New Year Jazz 2021

The idea for a New Year jazz theme started out on a Sunday when my show fell on December 31, so it originated as a pre-funk for New Year’s Eve parties. Now, of course, the noon to 2PM slot is a bit early in the day to be party pre-funk territory... but if you know you will be attending a fabulous party at night, it is nice to keep a certain energy going all day long… so this episode may be considered as the pre-funk to the pre-funk. An episode for a New Year celebration should be modern and cosmopolitan, the same way we like our New Year’s Eve parties. On this night we want to feel like we are a part of a global celebration. We also want to be at the fanciest, most baller parties. New Year’s Eve is a time for wearing your finest clothes, a time for exotic cocktails and expensive Champagne, a shared occasion to put on the proverbial ritz. So there will be no country sounds on the show today, no old timey charmers… today we are sleek, modern, and sexy. But we will be keeping that dial down under 5… we can’t peak too early in the pre-funk to the pre-funk.
