EPISODE 149: HORNY FEET

This week we ask the questions that need to be answered, like- why does Drake get to put on other people's accents whenever he wants? And just what exactly is the level of entitlement called when you order your kid a smoothie they're allergic to and take it out on the workers who prepared what you asked for? 

We go over the Florida senate approving a white feelings matter more than facts bill- the keyboard kyle cop that resigned after posting that Ahmaud Arbery was a criminal that got the death penalty, the wave of case dismissals in the Bronx because a detective was just making shit up, and Judge Davenport, of locking kids up indiscriminately fame, resigned from the bench. So we ask, why tf do these people who are so obviously reckless in their jobs get to resign? Why do they get the grace of not being fired? Why do they get to keep their pensions? 

We find the answers to all of those questions, in the story of Lauren Smith-Fields *cough anti-Blackness cough* who died while on a date- in her home- and the last person to see her and be with her, told a disjointed story to the cops, was immediately dismissed as a suspect and her death was ruled an accidental overdose. The anti-Blackness and misogyny of this story are more than heartbreaking and all too familiar- but what's more, takes a system of anti-Blackness to continue to thrive today.
