Episode 141: Afrikaleidoscope

Today I will be playing a new episode of the show theme Afrikaleidoscope, my chance to mix sounds from all parts of Africa. There will be four Afrikaleidoscope sets: first is an opening statement mostly from Portuguese speaking countries in Africa. We’ll hear from Angola, Guinea-Bissau, and Cape Verde to kick things off, with one unmatched sock from Kenya in that laundry basket. The second set pivots to African music showing more jazz influence… this will be some African fusion with big city sophistication. The second hour will begin with my extra deep tracks for the day; I’ll play some trancy sounds up front, then we’ll build up to some groovy psychedelic dance music. We’ll end the show with some uptempo sounds that bring funk into the mix.
