Rug Radio 4/2 Sci-Fi special (Rerun)
Watch the sky on a clear night and there you will see flickering in the darkness of earth night a thousand suns stronger than ours and the satellites of these suns will be invisible to us and the fraction of the fraction of the universe we see will seem immense and we will be in awed. Already men’s minds have turned to the stillness of earth. Already his thirst for knowledge and imagination have lead him on many an expedition to space and if there is life in other worlds, how advanced is it?
Getting sci-fi on tonight's special. Some Yugo disco to start us off followed by the likes of Paul Cherry, Iron Butterfly, and Great Speckled Bird. This well rounded episode has a spaced-out theme with a nod to Joe Meek as well as some German ambient and new age. Of course we rounded the show out with Jim Sullivan's U.F.O ! Not a show to be missed.
The retro radio show featured on tonight's episode is "Out of the Sky" from Hall of Fantasy a broadcast sci-fi / horror radio program from 1952 to 1953. On "Out of the Sky" a search begins to locate hostile visitors from a flying saucer. A good story about Earth's atom bombs against the aliens.
