The first of three celebrating sisterhood by featuring some of my favorite records by “sister acts”.
Before Whoopie Goldberg ever donned a habit, “sister acts” were known as performing teams made up of sisters. There were dancing sisters, comedy sisters, juggling sisters (I’m assuming), acrobatic sisters, and singing sisters.
On this episode we will hear from some the pioneers of singing sister groups or duos including: The Boswell Sisters, The Famous Davis Sisters, The Carter Sisters with Mother Maybelle, The De Castro Sisters (of Cuba), the Perry Sisters of (Paris), the Barry Sisters (of the Bronx) & many more!
