5th Annual All Jane Comedy Festival

All Jane Comedy Festival is top national, local acts slated for Portland’s fest celebrating women in comedy.
This five-day event presents a carefully curated blend of the best up-and-coming and nationally headlining female comedic performers from throughout the United States and Canada. Five-day festival passes ($50–$125) and tickets to individual shows ($15–20) will be on sale at alljanecomedy.org imminently. A full lineup is listed online, and a schedule is forthcoming in September.
Most events will take place at Curious Comedy Theater (5225 NE Martin Luther King Dr.), which produces and sponsors the festival, with a special Sunday night show at Revolution Hall (1300 SE Stark St.).
Performers at this year’s festival include Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite, Arrested Development), Jackie Kashian (The Dork Forest, The Jackie and Laurie Show), Page Hurwitz (Last Comic Standing executive producer), Debra DiGiovanni (Last Comic Standing, Live at Gotham, Just for Laughs Comedy Festival), Dulcé Sloan (CONAN,StandUp NBC winner), Lisa Best (Flophouse, Cheat Day Chowdown), and Maggie Maye (CONAN).
These and many other acclaimed performers arrive from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and all points between to share the stage with Pacific Northwest powerhouses Susan Rice, JoAnn Schinderle, Katie Nguyen, Andie Main, Barbara Holm, Whitney Streed, and All Jane founder and Curious Comedy/All Jane Comedy Fest Artistic Director Stacey Hallal.
About All Jane Comedy Festival
All Jane Comedy Festival (formerly All Jane No Dick) celebrates the unique voices of women in comedy, providing inspiration and increased visibility for the top performers of today and tomorrow. It encourages collaboration and dialogue, and highlights the great diversity of artistic approaches among female comedic performers today. Programming for All Jane 2016 includes stand-up showcases, a live taping of popular podcast The Dork Forest, workshops, and special themed shows.
About Curious Comedy Theater
This year's festival marks the debut of Curious Comedy Theater's renovated space. With the aid of a $172K grant from Mount Hood Cable Regulatory Commission, Curious is now the most technologically advanced independent comedy theater in North America. It is now equipped with state-of-the-art lights, sound, video recording, and live-streaming equipment specifically in place to further the careers of women comedians.
Curious Comedy Theater (curiouscomedy.org) is Portland’s only 501(c)3 nonprofit theater devoted solely to comedy. The mission is to improve the lives of kids, adults, and seniors through the art of comedy. Each Thursday through Sunday, there is a high-quality artistic programming featuring our elite performance ensembles, the Curious Comedy Players and house teams, with additional showcases for new teams and students to gain experience and experiment with new formats and ideas.
There are five levels of classes and a wide range of workshops in Curious Comedy Training Center, corporate improv training, and outreach programs designed to make a positive difference in the world.
