KPH & The Canary Collective / Margaret Wehr / Isabeau Walker

  • 8:00pm Tuesday, February 11, 2020

KPH & The Canary Collective is releasing their first full-length album "The Canary Collective: Vol 1" and wants to celebrate with Portland fam Tuesday Feb 11th at 8pm at Turn! Turn! Turn! with brilliant Portland sirens Margaret Wehr and Isabeau Waia'u Walker.

It's time to heal our bodies and the earth holistically! "The Canary Collective" album was concocted in the spirit of amplifying voices of sensitive canaries in the proverbial coal mine: people with chronic illness who are struggling to afford healthcare and safe water, food, air, and housing. Now KPH is on another tour of the west coast hoping to encourage dialogue and action around the issues of healthcare, gender, and climate justice for all. This will be a beautiful evening of womxn songwriters sharing their songs and thoughts on how we can heal.

Partially funded by an Arts Project grant from King County's 4Culture, the album features guest artists such as Luz Elena Mendoza of Y La Bamba, Nataly Dawn (solo artist and in band Pomplamoose), and poets such as Afrose Fatima Ahmed, Leland Chazen, and Tara Hardy. It was recorded and mixed in good ol' Portland by Ryan Oxford of Color Therapy Recording.
