Dance Party: DJ Action Slacks Dance Hall of Flame!

  • 8:00pm Saturday, February 3, 2024
Dance to vintage vinyl Rhythm n Grooves of the 1950s & 1960s!
Rarities & Familiar Favorites!

Along with spinning other vintage red-hot rhythm 'n' grooves for your dancing pleasure, I'll be inducting several artists into my Dance Hall of Flame. This is my way of formally acknowledging the musicians & recording artists who have repeatedly ignited my dance floors over the years.

You can find out more about the DJ Action Slacks Dance Hall of Flame and see all previous inductees @ djactionslacks.com.

As I quickly approach the conclusion of my 3rd decade (& final era) of DJing, it feels very important to me to officially express my gratitude to these entertainers who have often been under-celebrated by the mainstream. Going forward, I'll be inducting multiple artists at most of my Kenton Club dance parties.

The party guests who attend these events will receive trading cards for each of these artists to take home so you remember their names. These cards will ONLY be available at these events & I'll have a limited supply so, the earlier you arrive at the party, the better. I hope you'll try to collect them all.

OK! Now go mark your calendars for Feb 3rd & join me at the Kenton Club to dance & celebrate this group of inducted artists: Sugar Pie DeSanto, The Shangri-Las, Peggy Scott & Jo Jo Benson, Baby Washington, Perez Prado, The 5 Royales, The Exciters, & Wynona Carr.

** Like most of my dance parties, this party is open to all kind-hearted people, but is geared toward the Portland LGBTQmunity & its allies.

EARLY PARTY
8pm to Midnight

Location - World Famous Kenton Club
2025 N Kilpatrick St, Portland, OR 97217

Admission - $10 - $20 at the door (sliding scale,)
The reason I use a sliding scale admission is that official DJ Action Slacks events involve a great deal of labor and expense for the party producer. I want to keep the admission cost affordable for people with a limited budget, but those who can afford to pay more can help to cover the expenses required for me to deliver SPECIAL events with guest performers)
You can pay cash or Venmo
