Hailing from the Bay Area, HALOU /huh-loo/ is a band led by the
songwriting duo Rebecca and Ryan Coseboom, accompanied live by musicians
Sergey Ledovsky on drums, Andre Pasternak on bass, and Erica Mulkey on
Rhodes Piano and backing vocals.
Kallai was formed in the summer of
2023 by members of Trance to the Sun, Luscious Apparatus and Lost
Echoes. While inspired by the post-punk, shoegaze and doom acts of the
past few decades, Kallai’s perspective is evolving with those scenes and
seeking to spin sounds that unfold throughout time. Their current sound has been likened to a blend of "Dark Fleetwood
Mac" and "Angry Early Cocteau Twins," showcasing their evolution from
their early trip-hop roots in the mid-90s.
Noteworthy achievements in their history include a video for one of
their songs obtaining 40M views on YouTube, 41K monthly listeners on
Spotify, having one of their albums on KEXP’s “Most Played Albums of All
Time” list, releasing an album on the esteemed indie label Nettwerk
Records, collaborating with artists like Robin Guthrie and Zoe Keating,
performing showcase performances at SXSW and Bumbershoot (where they
notably played two official shows at a single Bumbershoot), and opening
for Bob Mould on a US Tour.
HALOU released their newest EP, THE BUTCHER’S BILL in Summer 2024. Vinyl will be released just in time for the show.
Wuppertal Germany's alternative electro rockers inspire with a
perfect synthesis of hard-hitting guitar riffs, pounding machine beats,
and driving sequencer loops. Supported by England's legendary producer
John Fryer, known for his work with Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, and
White Zombie, their international sound is astonishing. In 2021, the
band signed with the US label Cop-International, and five releases have
followed to date, three of which have reached the top ten of the German
alternative charts.
Also worth mentioning is their collaboration with Richard Kruspe
(Rammstein), Billy Gould (Faith No More), and Chris Hall (Stabbing
Westward) as part of a joint project for victims of the Ukraine war in
2022. The three exceptional artists impressed with their special live
qualities in the summer of 2023, when they became the first band in the
world to sell out a 360-degree multimedia rock show with an
extraordinary silent concert concept, ten times in a row. Suck on that,
U2.
Responsible for this and everything visual with Johnny Tupolev are
two other friends and unofficial band members: Oscar-nominated VFX
specialist Frank Petzold (All Quiet on the Western Front, Armageddon,
Starship Troopers) and Emmy Award-winning video artist Christoph Vitt.
These two will be accompanying the band on tour and producing a
documentary.
