Jazz In the New Millennium is a one-hour program focusing on an individual living jazz artist each week, putting their work in historical perspective from their earlier recordings to the most recent. The show is centered in contemporary mainstream jazz, but it also follows the artists when they explore related genres such as blues, rhythm and blues, hip hop, rock, reggae, Latin and African music. The program is syndicated nationally by the African American Public Radio Consortium and airs in about a dozen markets including Portland.
