Sadder Star showcases the highly expressive and often misunderstood genre of emo, short for emotive hardcore. Emo originated out of the mid-80s DC hardcore punk scene and has transformed into several waves over the decades since. 

Sadder Star spans all forms of emo / screamo / emotive hardcore and its related subgenres, with an emphasis on lesser known 90s emo.

Emo is DIY ethics, gut-wrenching screams, soft whispers, twinkly guitars, poetic lyrics, 7" records with brown paper covers, guttural passion. I hope this makes you feel something. ♡
