DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid have spent more than eighteen years igniting dance floors with cutting edge music not limited by borders or language. They host the longest-running Bhangra and Bollywood party in the world (Andaz est. 2002), co-founded the Pacific Northwest’s first Global Bass dance party (Atlas 2003-2013) and host 2 weekly radio shows (CHOR BAZAAR on XRAY.FM and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Kush on KBOO.FM.)

Tonight’s 80th birthday celebration is for “Portland’s Pillar Of Soul,” Ural Thomas. The event features headliners Ural Thomas & The Pain with an eclectic mix of opening acts including soul crooner Nick Waterhouse, the local R&B sounds of Covi., and the live comedy of “Portland’s Funniest Person,” Adam Pasi. Live storytelling from event MCs Paul Knauls, Sr. and Calvin Walker round out the night. Ural Thomas only turns 80 once. Come sing him happy birthday, won’t you?

A Desi Latino Soundclash where the hottest club sounds from India and Latin America go head to head in an all-night dance-off of epic proportions. Resident DJs Anjali & The Incredible Kid combine their deep passions and deep crates from across the spectrum of Latin, Caribbean & South Asian vibes. Chances with Wolves is coming to town! XRAY.FM and Hey Love welcome New York DJ Duo Chances with Wolves to Portland for a Live DJ Set on Friday December 6th at Hey Love on 9th and east Burnside. The New York duo will bring their crates of rare vinyl to play live from 9-2am. You can catch their radio show on XRAY on Saturdays from 12 to 2pm every week. Rafael Spielman, Alex Geddes, and Lawton Browning have made independant music in the Pacific Northwest as the Woolen Mwenn since 2009. Since then they have written hundreds of songs, three LP’s, four 7-inches, thirteen tapes and six videos, the majority of which were written, recorded and produced by the band themselves.

Una Noche De Bienestar: Building Hope In The Immigrant Community

Latinx performers take the stage in a musical celebration of immigrant culture, community, and strength. Featuring Luz Elena Mendoza, San Cha, and Orquestra Pacifico Tropical.

100% of proceeds go to benefit Bienestar, a nonprofit affordable housing developer. Bienestar builds housing, hope, and a brighter future for Latinx, immigrant, farmworker, and other low-income families in the Portland Metro Area.

Co-bill with two local powerhouse songwriters. Jacob James has released his own solo record and is also known for his current work as the piano player for grammy-winning artist Brandi Carlile. Joined by a full band, keyboardist and songwriter Megan Diana crafts delicate melodies that leave you swooning for more.

A must for musicians and songwriters, this workshop aims to provide an overview of the legal aspects of the music industry. Topics will include copyright essentials for musicians, a discussion on royalty payments under the Music Modernization Act, a look at music publishing and Performing Rights Organizations (PROs), music licensing, understanding recording and publishing contracts, and music clearances for the use of music in film, TV, digital projects, and more.

This workshop will be led by veteran music attorney Bart Day and CD Baby attorney Joel Andrew.
