Oregon Lyme Disease Network (OLDN) is a 501(c)3 non-profit since 2001 established to raise awareness, educate and advocate for those suffering with chronic tick born infections, and to provide emotional support to patients through online and face to face support groups. One of their main goals is to raise money for needy children and young adults. OLDN’s Ashley Denham Children's Fund assists families with children birth-18 years of age. This concert/awareness is the opener for their newly added Vaughan Heppe Young Adult's Fund for patients 19-35 years of age. Both of these assistance funds help patients with initial diagnosis/testing. Both of these funds are available to those who meet OLDN's funding criteria and as funds permit.
Please enjoy a special night of music where we will raise awareness about Lyme Disease, as well as funds to go directly to get children and young adults tested for tick borne illnesses, diagnosis, and access to care.

SATAN & ADAM
Series: Sonic Cinema
In 1986, harmonica player Adam Gussow asked if he could jam on the streets of Harlem with one-man-band Sterling "Mr. Satan" Magee. Amidst NYC’s racial tension, this Jewish Ivy League graduate and black Mississippi bluesman, Satan & Adam, made an unlikely pair. After a chance encounter with members of U2 and a celebrated debut record, they rose to international acclaim—and then Mr. Satan mysteriously disappeared. This documentary, an odyssey 23 years in the making, captures a miraculous journey of friendship, heartbreak, and the transformative power of music.

Each song on Bayonne’s Drastic Measures is orchestral in texture, unfolding in countless layers and kaleidoscopic tones. With great intensity of detail, the Austin-based artist otherwise known as Roger Sellers deepens that sonic complexity by weaving in elegantly warped samples of the field recordings he’s gathered for over a decade. But in its powerful melodies and pristine arrangements, Drastic Measures ultimately bears a pure pop lucidity even in its most grandiose moments.

Mic Check and A Beat Happening present: Beats & Rhymes - A Fundraiser for XRAY.FM The ALL AGES show features rappers and producers from Portland to Oklahoma City. Also featuring artists representing Friends of Noise. The event kicks off at 5pm Saturday April 6th at McMenamins Mission Theater

An intensely intimate post-punk/darkwave experience, the Out From The Shadows festival brings in artists from around the country and the world for three nights at the Tonic Lounge. This year, we go from the largely Portland-based opening night - 4 local bands (The Secret Light and Darkswoon among them) along with Copenhagen's The Foreign Resort and the return of The Wheal from Paris - to two distinctly different but equally amazing lineups the next two nights. Friday finds Light Asylum headlining in their only Portland appearance of the year supported by LA's Milliken Chamber, Social Station from DC, Chicago artist Panic Priest and others, including Portland wunderkinds Xibling. Saturday night turns decidedly darker and not a little more goth. Aside from the long overdue reappearance of local band LUNCH, we have Oakland's Ink Bats, Cruz de Navajas from Mexico City, Seattle's Nox Novacula, SF legends Altar De Fey, rising phenoms Twin Tribes from Texas, the return of the intense and popular Lust Era from San Juan PR, all topped by one of the current, hotbed Portland scene's most important originators, The Estranged.
