Shoegaze, post-punk, darkwave + dreampop with Bridal Veil, Ten Million Lights, Waking Sophia and DJ Wednesday spinning all night.

DJ WEDNESDAY spinning tunes before, during and after the show. An
evening filled with post-punk, shoegaze, darkwave and dreampop.

BRIDAL VEIL is an American four-piece band from Portland, Oregon
inspired by the emotional pangs of the 90’s — the last era to know
what life was like without a cell phone in every hand.
Led by guitarist/soprano/flutist Emily Overstreet, the band weaves
between ethereal dreampop similar to Cocteau Twins and heavy walls of
noise akin to My Bloody Valentine.. Jar evident, backed by desolate
doom guitar and bass, as well as baritone vocals

TEN MILLION LIGHTS are a psych/post-punk/shoegaze band from Portland,
OR. The group crafts epic psychedelic soundscapes transporting you
through fuzzed-up guitars, hypnotic rhythms, and blissed-out vocals.
Their love of beautiful melodies and wistful harmonies evokes a sense
of nostalgia and catharsis.

WAKING SOPHIA is a shoegaze/dreampop band from rainy Portland, Oregon
consisting of Duncan Calver (vocals, guitar), Terry Barefield
(guitar), Tim Eurich (bass), Matthew Flook (keyboards) and Adam Bayer
(drums)

Host of Six Beats Under:
Mondays 9pm to 10pm PDT on XRAY FM

Dress up in clothing inspired by the era, and dance like there's no tomorrow at this Pre-Valentine's soiree! Bring your valentine or maybe meet a new valentine on the dance floor!

Your host DJ Action Slacks will spin 45 rpm records from the Atomic Age: R&B, early rock n roll, soul, garage rock, rockabilly, girl groups, and pop records from the 1950s & 1960s. Familiar favorites with fun rarities!

Have an ATOMIC BLAST on the dance floor!
In these tumultuous times, it might be a good idea to take inspiration from the people of mid-century America - The Original Atomic Age.

How did they deal with their feelings? Mostly they danced about it. They danced, and danced, and danced and danced. They invented so many whimsical dance steps until they had danced the worry right out of them!

So won't you please set aside your cares for a night, and join me for an Atomic Age-"Oldies" Dance Party.

Admission - Sliding Scale $10-$20

All Ages (adult themes) // Doors 6:30 PM Show 7 PM // Tickets $20

7 Deadly Sins: CHURCH is a seven-part interactive live storytelling series that explores each of the Seven Deadly Sins, what they mean in this particular moment in history, and how we might choose to think of them in these turbulent times.

Despite being an entirely secular show created by a group of outlandishly sinful heathens, 7 Deadly Sins: CHURCH will have all the trappings and spirit of an old-school gospel tent revival—albeit with less religion and more access to cocktails. (Also, if anyone is somehow miraculously healed of anything, it will surprise us way more than you.)

In this first show, Part One, the stories will focus on the Sin Of Wrath, a sin which—let’s be honest—feels pretty 2025.

Wrath is the most frightening of all the sins, the one most of us associate with violence, fury, or revenge. But wrath can also be a call for justice. Wrath is John Brown. Wrath is Stonewall, and Black Lives Matter, and 438 coordinated women’s “p**sy-hat” marches in 2017. Wrath, in other words, is like all of the other deadly sins: for better and worse, it is part of what makes us human.

Plus there will be laughs! And music! And poetry! And readings! And singalongs! And still more laughs! Because more than anything, 7 Deadly Sins: CHURCH is going to be a kick-ass, howl-at-the-moon evening of fun as we all celebrate what it means to be human, and keep the darkness at bay just one night longer.

The CHURCH series is a collaborative production conceived, created, and directed by writer, journalist, and 7 Deadly Sins Executive & Artistic Director R. Tod Kelly; actor, writer, and filmmaker Travis Abels; storyteller and stand-up comedian Star Dell’Era; PICA performance artist and creator of Life Coach Andrew Dickson; comedian, host, and story coach Meg Ferrill; and longtime teacher and raconteur Pat McCreery, with the help of Wrath’s Musical Director John Shipe and Art & Media Director Mark Noland.

All Ages // Show 7:30 // Tickets $25+

This Fall, The Moth Mainstage is coming to Portland for one unforgettable evening. Five storytellers will explore the theme of “DARING,” with true and personal stories told live and without notes. Stories of bold choices, audacious proclamations, and moments that required everything they had. Expect to laugh, gasp, cry, and maybe even cover your eyes.

Experience The Moth Mainstage live as storytellers take risks, explore human truths, and challenge audiences to consider what it means to be daring.

The Moth Mainstage shows are renowned for the great range of human experience they showcase. Each show starts with a theme, and the storytellers explore it, often in unexpected ways. Since each story is true and every voice authentic, the shows dance between documentary and theater, creating a unique, intimate, and often enlightening experience for the audience.

December's Flame is Peppermint Twist
A swingin' affair you shouldn't miss
Adorn yourself in holiday cheers
And dance amongst the glitzy queers

It's been many MANY years since we first kicked off the Portland holiday season with my Peppermint Twist Holiday Dance Party.  This was long before so many of the complex modern/retro challenges we're grappling with today.

I thought it might be nice to roll things back for one night to try to remember what JOY and community connection felt like back then (as well as today).

So we gather once again in love, joy, & appreciation of the diversity of our LGBTQ family INCLUDING our allies.

Join your host DJ Action Slacks jingle her way through vintage 1960s vinyl: soul, Motown, oldies, Northern Soul, pop, Latin, garage rock & holiday delights. Rarities & some familiar favorites!

And PRIZES for some lucky guests who display the most seasonal spirit!

Admission: $15
